ContributorNetwork – COMMENTARY | President Barack Obama Tuesday nominated John Bryson, former head of Edison International, as his replacement for outgoing Commerce Secretary Gary Locke. According to NPR, Bryson’s lengthy resume includes a law degree from Yale, board positions at Boeing and Disney, founding his own environmental group and heading up California’s Public Utilities Commission and State Water Resources Control Board. Though the nomination met with praise from a rare combination of environmental and business groups, several Republicans have vowed to block the nomination over unrelated trade issues.
