Budget Deal is the Latest of Numerous Compromises (ContributorNetwork) – 839th Edition

ContributorNetwork – President Barack Obama, House Speaker John Boehner, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid reached a budget deal late Friday night, where $38.5 billion more in budget cuts for fiscal year 2011 is coming if officially passed by Congress next week. That was short of the $61 billion Republicans and tea partiers in Congress had been fighting for. To see the leaders of this country come together in the 11th hour to avoid a government shutdown isn’t the first time that compromise was needed in order to keep America from going off the abyss … at least for the time being.
