ContributorNetwork – The National Transitional Council, a coalition of rebels opposing the regime of Moammar Gadhafi, went to Washington on Friday in hopes of recognition. Despite urging from Italy for other countries to recognize the NTC, the Obama administration opted to sidestep the issue for now. Instead, the administration will focus on trying to work with Congress to release a portion of the $30 billion in seized Libyan funds to aid the rebel movement.
